Unforgettable and world-famous

Holidays on the island of Rügen

Unforgettable and world-famous, beautiful and very sunny, and a popular destination! Nature in its unadulterated form, a unique UNESCO World Heritage Site, beach chairs and the sea - Rügen is all of this and more.

There is plenty to see and do at Sellin seaside resort: a lift to the beach, a submarine gondel into the sea and the longest pier of the island. The magnificent turn-of-the-century spa architecture in this very popular spa town and its buzzing beach life all make this the 'Pearl of the Island of Rügen'. For as far as the eye can see, you can let yourself be rocked by the Baltic Sea waves, dig holes in the hand, play and splash about or just like your mind wander...

And Sellin Youth Hostel is in the middle of all this! Situated between the Baltic Sea coast and Sellin Lake, this cosy Hostel is only a few hundred metres away from the beach. Chilling out, unwinding and roasting in the sun is what's really "in" here.

These are the main appeals of Sellin Youth Hostel:

  • Enjoy family holidays on the Baltic Sea coast
  • Perfect beach holiday on the island of Rügen
  • Starting point for exploring the island: Chalk cliffs and Buchenwald World Heritage Site

Sellin resides in the south-eastern part of Rügen, amid its various spas. The Youth Hostel itself is located immediately by the coastal forest. If you fancy bathing, windsurfing or a walk along the waterfront, it's only 500 metres to the coastline or, in the other direction, to the Sellin lake, which offers a whole range of water sports activities. The Mönchgut peninsula to the south is a great place for enjoying magnificent views - climb to one of its viewpoints and enjoy the sweeping and completely unspoilt views in all directions.

Once you've climbed down again, there are three attractions in the region that you shouldn't miss: the Baltic resort of Binz, Prora and the Jasmnd national park with its famous chalk rocks. And if you still have a bit of time left over, add Hiddensee, Kap Arkona, the residence city of Putbus and the hanseatic city of Stralsund to your agenda. But as is so often the case: the best things are close by. Just a click away!
